The Bragging Club proudly welcomes Col Merugu Solomon Saneev (Retd.) to its Advisory Board. A distinguished Indian Army veteran with 33 years of exemplary service, Col Saneev brings deep expertise in strategic defence systems, advanced technology integration, leadership development, and institutional transformation.

Commanded 6 LANCERS, Indian Armed Forces, Col Saneev has served in several critical appointments, including at Integrated Headquarters (Army), Ministry of Defence, Government of India. He commanded 6 LANCERS and has been awarded twice for distinguished service, reflecting his commitment to operational excellence and national security.

Col Saneev has led high-level Ministry of Defence investigative delegations to Russia and other countries, comprising scientists and senior officers from the Army, DRDO, DGQA, CPE, PXE, OFB, and DMRL. His investigative analysis on internal and external ballistics of Tanks T-72 and T-90 significantly contributed to enhancing weapon reliability and advancing technology transfer initiatives.

A visionary technologist, he designed the digital control harness systems for Tanks T-72 and T-90, systems that are now integrated across ground-based fighting vehicles of the Armed Forces. As a defence consultant and subject matter expert in arms and ammunition design with BEL, India, he has:

• Designed APFSDS ammunition in collaboration with IIT Madras (in advanced trial stages)
• Led the design of a 76 mm High Velocity Projectile (HVP) for the Indian Navy (ongoing)

Col Saneev has also served as Director and Professor at the Defence Institute of Armament and Technology (DIAT), Pune (Deemed University under Ministry of Defence), shaping future defence technologists and strategic leaders.
